Recently, the final of the 2026 Zhejiang New‑field & New‑quality Innovation Competition concluded successfully in Pinghu, Jiaxing. Baino Chuangrui (Wenzhou) Biotech Co., Ltd. (hereafter Chuangrui Biotech) brought its one-stop innovation‑enabling CDMO project for biomacromolecular drug manufacturing and specialty formulations. After rigorous competitions covering pre‑selection registration, preliminary contest, due diligence and final defense, the project stood out from 109 high-quality programs across Zhejiang Province and was awarded the Second Prize.

About the Competition

The 2026 Zhejiang New Fields & New Quality Innovation Competition is guided by the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Zhejiang Province, the Office of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee for Civil-Military Integration Development, and the People’s Government of Jiaxing Municipality, and hosted by Zhejiang Technology Innovation Service Center and the People’s Government of Pinghu Municipality. It is an important provincial-level competition that promotes the in-depth integration of scientific and technological innovation with industrial innovation.

With the theme of "Gather Wisdom in New Fields · Boost Industries with New Quality", the competition covers ten cutting-edge tracks including biomedicine and new materials, and is divided into two groups: the Startup Project Group and the Industrial Application Group. Launched in May this year, the competition went through multiple rounds of rigorous selection, and a total of 42 hard-core innovation projects advanced to the final. Adopting the evaluation model of "on-site roadshow + expert defense", the final selected 5 Grand Prize winners, 10 First Prize winners and 10 Second Prize winners on site.

Parallel events including an exhibition of innovative achievements in new fields and new quality, centralized project signing ceremonies, and exchanges on the transformation of scientific and technological achievements were held alongside the competition. These activities facilitate resource connection for innovative projects and accelerate the translation of cutting-edge technologies from the competition arena to industrial application. More than 160 representatives from provincial and municipal economic, information and technology authorities as well as enterprises attended the event.

The awarded project addresses bottlenecks in the industrialization of biomacromolecular drug R&D. It builds a one-stop CDMO empowerment platform for biomacromolecular bulk drug production and specialty formulations, providing innovative pharmaceutical enterprises with full-cycle CMC solutions for drug development. The platform effectively supports the clinical advancement and stable industrialization of biologic drugs, consolidating the foundation of new-quality productive forces in the biomedicine sector. This honor recognizes Chuangrui Bio’s innovation capacity and the value of its industrialization services, and stands as solid testimony to the company’s continuous efforts in the R&D and production service track for biomacromolecular drugs.

The company adheres to differentiated track layout and builds distinctive technical barriers. It has established 3 bulk drug production lines and 7 formulation filling lines compatible with both prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression systems, capable of undertaking the development and manufacturing of multiple dosage forms including macromolecular BFS eye drops, thermosensitive gels, small-volume injections (liquid and lyophilized), pre-filled syringes and cartridges.
