For more than 30 years, Academician Li Xiaokun has stayed true to his original aspiration in scientific research. Leading his team, he has delved into fundamental theoretical research and new drug development of protein drugs represented by growth factors, continuously scaling new heights in science. Internationally, he was the first to develop multiple new medicines for tissue injury repair and regeneration, serving over 97 million clinical patients. The manufacturing protocols and quality standards for FGFs have become the national standards for trauma repair in China.

Taking the Lead and Forging Ahead with Educational Reforms to Cultivate Young Talents for Biopharmaceuticals

Academician Li Xiaokun has devoted many years to pharmaceutical education. With full enthusiasm for teaching and educating people, he is committed to innovating and promoting talent training models for biopharmaceuticals. He has built a "Three-Integration" training system based on the philosophy of "Big Pharmacy", and established a curriculum system centered on innovative drugs, developing national high-quality courses. The biopharmaceutical textbook series for higher education under the 14th Five-Year Plan has been widely adopted. Under his guidance, a cohort of national outstanding teachers, National May 1st Labor Medal recipients, as well as national role models including National College Student Self-improvement Stars, winners of the National Outstanding Award for College Graduates Working at Grassroots Levels, and outstanding individuals of the University Student "Thousand Universities, Thousand Projects" program have been nurtured.
